Fiber Glass Furnaces are highly precise thermal systems specifically engineered for melting glass that requires exceptional chemical resistance and optical purity. For this reason, refractory and steel assembly processes must be carried out within much narrower tolerance ranges and with a higher degree of engineering discipline compared to standard glass furnaces.
At GTR, all refractory and steel installation methods we apply in fiber glass furnace projects are designed by taking into account parameters such as material density, thermal expansion coefficients, and the chemical reactivity of molten glass. Each brick or block placed in critical zones such as the melter, refiner, and forehearth is installed according to defined joint widths, high-temperature dimensional tolerances, and visual control standards. At every stage, thermal balance, mechanical stability, and sealing integrity are prioritized.

In steel structure assembly, GTR teams ensure that all load-bearing systems designed to operate under high temperature and vibration are installed with perfect leveling and centering. All welded and bolted joints undergo compliance testing in accordance with EN and DIN standards. Throughout the installation process, deviations are monitored at the micron level using laser leveling and 3D measurement systems.
Refractory and steel assembly for fiber glass furnaces is not merely a mechanical operation, but an engineering craft that directly determines both the quality of the glass and the lifespan of the furnace. With its interdisciplinary approach and international expertise, GTR applies this precision at the highest level in every project.
"Producing high-quality insulation or reinforcement materials requires exacting standards in temperature control and glass conditioning. GTR designs and builds specialized fiber glass furnaces tailored for E-glass and C-glass production. Our solutions focus on the unique challenges of fiber glass furnaces, such as maintaining stable viscosity for fiberization and ensuring refractory longevity against aggressive glass compositions. We deliver robust furnace structures that support continuous, high-efficiency manufacturing."
