Project Summary
GTR successfully executed the new installation works of the GC2 Furnace at the Gürok Container Glass production facility.
During the pandemic period, significant challenges arose in the procurement of project materials due to global logistics disruptions. A critical delay occurred in the manufacturing and shipment of the melter bottom blocks, making it impossible to follow the conventional construction sequence.
Through proactive project management, deep technical expertise, and extensive field experience, the GTR team developed an innovative approach that deviated from the standard methodology. In a typical installation, the superstructure is built after the bottom construction; however, in this project, the order was reversed, and the superstructure was completed before the bottom blocks were installed.
Once the superstructure was finalized, the bottom blocks arrived on site, their installation was carried out with precision, and the furnace was successfully commissioned. This exceptional implementation demonstrated GTR’s engineering capability and adaptability even under the most challenging conditions.
Result
Despite the constraints of the pandemic, the project was completed in full compliance with the planned schedule and quality standards, receiving complete approval from the GCA technical teams.
This project once again proved GTR’s agility in crisis management, technical excellence, and culture of operational perfection.
The GCA Container Glass Furnace project demonstrates GTR’s ability to manage complex industrial furnace installations under challenging conditions. Despite pandemic-related supply chain disruptions, our team developed an innovative construction sequence and successfully completed the furnace installation on schedule. This project highlights GTR’s engineering expertise, adaptability, and commitment to delivering reliable solutions even in the most demanding circumstances.
