JSC Mina Glass Container Factory – C Furnace

Project Summary

In line with Şişecam’s production capacity expansion targets for its Georgia facility, GTR undertook the cold repair and full reconstruction of the C Furnace.

The existing 100 TPD furnace, having reached the end of its service life, was completely dismantled and replaced with a new 150 TPD furnace. The new furnace was engineered to enhance production efficiency, optimize energy performance, and strengthen operational continuity.

The project was executed by GTR as a turn-key implementation. The scope included project management, technological steel manufacturing, glass draining, demolition of the existing furnace, technological steel assembly, refractory installation, heat-up preparation and support.

The project was completed according to plan with the turn-key delivery approach, and the furnace was successfully commissioned on 29 April 2025 with an official ignition ceremony marking the start of production.

Result

The project was finalized on schedule and in line with all quality standards. With its increased capacity, the new C Furnace—engineered with a focus on minimizing heat losses—once again demonstrated GTR’s engineering excellence, disciplined planning approach, and strong international project execution capabilities.
